Johnny Al Bazi is the father of all the Bandoleros in Chicago. Al Bazi has been doing music all his life. He states “Music is my life. There is no word to describe it, its passion and love. That’s what the music is all about.” Johnny started to play guitar in the 1980s while living in Greece. Johnny used to perform with a band called “Bandito de Amore” after just a short year he decided to realize his dream and start his own band the Bandoleros. The Bandoleros began as a Gipsy Kings sound alike but they quickly evolved beyond that using their unique sound and multi-cultural backgrounds with their capability of singing in six different languages English, Spanish, Greek, Italian, Assyrian and Arabic. Johnny has had the great pleasure of sharing the stage with the Gipsy Kings. After some musical differences the group split up. Johnny began his new band El Bandolero. Members of El Bandolero band include Johnny Al Bazi (lead vocalist, lead guitarist, songwriter), Sam Kario (vocalist, guitarist), Mike Detone (bassist), and Ronny Dawood (drummer) under the management of Nataly Salazar in just 3 years under his new management the band has played all throughout the Illinois area in restaurants such as Masada, 90 Miles Cuban Café, India Bhawan, La Tasca Tapas, Reilly’s Roadhouse and festivals such as the Cuban Fest, BC Fest, Harbor Fest, Fiesta Patrias in Aurora IL, Latino Film Festival and Latino Fashion Week these are just some of the events the band has had the great pleasure of being a part of. With their World Rock Rumba style music El Bandolero has taken Chicago by storm, they are one of the most popular bands in the Chicago area and they are loved by their fans. El Bandolero is one of the main sponsors for Fiesta Live Entertainment which together they have been supporting the Latin Community and bringing Mexican artist into the Chicagoland area to perform.
