The Polonijna Orkiestra of Chicago, under the direction of Konrad Pawełek, is a group comprised of Polish youth and adults playing wind, string, and percussion instruments. The orchestra’s mission is to transmit and promote Polish music and traditions to the younger generation. Its wide repertoire includes religious, patriotic, and folk music. The orchestra is based at the Cistercian Fathers’ Mission in Willow Springs, IL., where weekly rehearsals take place. The orchestra encourages new members at all skill levels of wind, string, and percussion instruments to join their ranks.
